According to a report published by a non-governmental human rights organization on Sunday; that the current Ministry of Justice has deprived the detainees of meeting their families through visits or contact with their lawyers, for more than eight months.

The NGO human rights says in a report: Current government's actions against Iraqi prisoners are "appalling and widespread" and may contribute to "crimes against humanity".

The report pointed out; that tens thousands of detainees in the prisons have been prevented from the ordinary visits for eight months, and even to meet with lawyers, noting that their families live in great concern about the fate of their sons; especially with repeat offenses liquidation of prisoners at the hands of sectarian militias and elements of government forces complicit with those militias.

According to the report; the so-called "Ministry of Justice" in Maliki's government finished state decision earlier this year to abolish all monthly visits to prisons and prevent the provision of any means of communication, as well as ban the entry of lawyers to detainees, to meet with their clients.

In this context; report citing the families of the detainees accounts, that they have made numerous requests to the ministry mentioned to demand the repeal of this resolution and to allow them to visit their sons; but they did not get a response at all, pointing to the existence of harassment against them during the request applications to the ministry, which oversees prisons in Iraq, as he emphasized the gathering of lawyers that they were prevented formally from requested the meeting with their clients in.

Regarding the same context, human rights activists said: "The government-backed militias are systematically targeting detainees - men, women and children - based on their ethnic, religious or sectarian affiliation and those militias are ruthlessly carrying out widespread ethnic and religious cleansing in the Sunni areas, especially in the Baghdad belt regions."

The activists citing targeted killings on sectarian basis, forced displacements, abductions, forced disappearances and destruction of places of worship, they said: "Unspeakable crimes against humanity are being committed daily by governmental troops and sectarian militias supporting them, not least of which, the recent crime committed in a Sunni mosque in rural area amid Iraq which left more than 70 worshipers dead, and dozens injured".
